Q&A
Have you always been interested in illurstration and art?
Yes! I've done drawings ever since I can remember. I'd spend hours drawing, reading, writing stories, and spending time with my imagination. I think most kids are like this-– every child is an artist, but as they get older, for some reason they get discouraged and stop drawing.
I was lucky and managed to
keep at it somehow.
What would you like the next generation of girls to know?
My best piece of advice for the next generation of girls is simply work hard and be true to yourself. Don't distract yourself by caring too much what
other people are doing.
Why did you choose to become
an illustrator?
In high school, I discovered that there was this whole industry called animation where you could get paid to draw and write stories. It seemed like the perfect fit for me. In animation school, I focused on drawing and painting because those came the most naturally to me, and that's how I ended up as an illustrator.
