Q&A
What/who inspired your interest in drawing?
I was always drawing, making things, baking, and being creative. I always hoped that I would be able to ‘draw for a living’, but I never really thought it was possible until I started University, and I knew that I wouldn’t be happy doing anything else.
Once you decided you wanted to be an illustrator, how did you get started?
I studied Animation at University and after graduating, I worked for two different design companies. I learned a lot, but I knew that I would be happier working for myself, and I was exhausted because I was working on my own illustration throughout the night and I didn’t have enough hours to complete client work. So I decided to become a freelance illustrator!
What's been one of your greatest accomplishments?
When I was 22 years old (three years ago) and working in a full-time job whilst designing my own greetings cards in the evenings and weekends, Liberty of London
placed an order to stock my cards in their stationery department. It was so exciting, and it gave me so much confidence to keep working towards my goal of becoming a full-time illustrator.
